How many times have we heard that expression! It is such a dangerous way of thinking and it is at epidemic proportions the way our society views weight and what one's worth is if we don't fit into the "perfect" idea of what socieity has now decided is the "right" size to be. Let's be realistic, how many "normal" people are a 0 to size 2? Most women are a size 8 or higher.
I can't believe that the news media made a big stink over the fact that Jessica Simpson went from a size 2 to a size 8 and that she had to defend her weight gain as well as other members of her family and friends. What kind of message is that giving our young women, especially teenagers.
If they can't be comfortable with who they are and be proud of themselves, then they can't possibly have any sense of self respect or self esteen. As long as you are healthy and exercise on a regular basis, you should not have to make excuses for your dress size!
I think that if society would stop sending out mixed signals about what is considered the right size, you will see less cases of Anorexia and other eating disorders.
Unfortunately, even those who are small are criticized so it seems that there is no happy medium on this issue. My daughter is petite and people are always asking her if she is healthy because she is so slim
Wake up America, we have bigger problems than what celebrity gained weight and let's concentrate on what is really important in life!
So...if you aren't a size 0-2 so what! Be proud of who you are, eat healthy and exercise to keep fit!
