Our stay at the Holiday Inn in Clearwater Beach, Florida

My daughter and I planned our first trip together with the children to Clearwater Beach, Florida.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn which had fantastic views facing the Gulf of Mexico. The hotel itself was beautiful, very clean and the staff friendly and accommodating.

When you are traveling with children, it is important to find a place that is family oriented and many suites are equipped with full kitchens, that have both dishes, flatware and pots and pans. Some suites even have separate sleeping quarters with a livingroom and two bathrooms.

We had a wonderful queen sized suite that had two queen sized beds, a table and four chairs, a full sized kitchen, and two huge chairs. The view was incredible. Our terrace faced the Gulf of Mexico and the large picture windows, the pool below. At night, once the children were asleep, my daughter and I sat on the terrace, listened to live music that was playing below us and sipped on our individual little bottles of wine, relaxing to the sound of the surf.

It was great to find a place where you could actually park your car at the hotel and everything was walking distance from the hotel. There was a wonderful pier called Pier 60 that was a mile from the hotel that during the month's of May through Sept. have nightly entertainment with street performers, arts and crafts and other exhibits. The beaches are clean and the sand is white. It was a pleasure walking and wading into turquoise colored water where you could actually see your feet at the bottom of the water and my granddaughter had a ball hunting for shells along the shoreline.

My daughter was so impressed with the hotel and Clearwater Beach, that she is going back with her husband and children in June..

I highly recommend the Holiday Inn and hope that those who will read this will go online and check out their website to see the rooms available as well as the other wonderful features. They also have an on site Restaurant called Jimmy's that has a great menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

If you are looking for a low key, relaxing vacation where all you have to do is sit by the pool and catch some rays, where there is a kiddie pool and a breathtaking view of the Gulf of Mexico and a constant breeze, pack your bags and go to the Holiday Inn in Clearwater Beach.

It sounds like a great place to stay Iris, I'll keep it in mind. I live in Florida now I'm going on vacation in July to Maine where most of my family live. But I may make it someday to Clearwater Beach.

Hi Dave,
Believe me, if you do decide to go, you won't be disappointed.
I also understand that if you love to fish, you will enjoy yourself too!
Have a wonderful time visiting your family and welcome to Florida!
